In 1996, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles and Mercedes Benz Commercial Unit debuted the outcome of their joint venture; the second generation Volkswagen LT would share a body shell with the new Mercedes Sprinter MY Series. The engine and transmission for the Volkswagen LT Volkswagen sourced.

A very popular vehicle for motorhome conversion in Europe the reliable and durable Volkswagen LT35 finished its production run in 2006 and was replaced with the Volkswagen Crafter.

Insect Screens for Window Openings:

The Flexible Magnetic Insect Screen attaches externally to the ferrous metal body panels that surround the window frames.

The Flexible Magnetic Insect Screen rolls up for storage in a tube or can be stored flat.

Flexible Magnetic Insect Screening Options are available for the following windows:

1. Passenger Door Window Opening for EXTERNAL installation where weathershields are not installed.
2. Drivers Door Window Opening for EXTERNAL installation where weathershields are not installed.
3. Left Side Rear Window to screen a window panel nominally 55cm x 66cm. For external installation.
4. Right Side Rear Window to screen a window panel nominally 55cm x 66cm. For external installation.

If aftermarket windows are installed in your Mercedes Sprinter then Flexible Magnetic Insect Screens can be manufactured to suit.

Insect Screen for Sliding Door Opening:

The Sliding Door Opening is nominally 112cm wide by 167cm high.

The Flexible Magnetic Insect Screen component is comprised of two overlapping mesh panels, or optionally three overlapping mesh panels secured internally in a track at the top of the door opening. Flexible magnet provides the seal down each side of the opening and between the overlapping mesh panels. The bottom seal is also provided by a flexible magnetic fastener.

Entry into and exit out of the vehicle is simply a matter of pushing against the mesh to break the magnetic seal and then moving through the overlapping mesh panels.

When insects are not an issue for the two overlapping panel version one half of the width of the insect screen can be slid out of the track and folded back and secured against the other half of the screen to provide one half of the door opening with an unobstructed thoroughfare; with the three overlapping panel version the centre panel can be rolled up and secured at the head of the door opening with the ties provided.

The sliding door insect screen can be totally removed in around 10 to 15 seconds for cleaning and is just as easy to reinstall. When the sliding door insect screen is not required it can be easily removed for storage using the optional storage hanger.

The Sliding Door Flexible Magnetic Insect Screen is a robust product that provides an effective barrier against insect entry.

Insect Screen for the Tailgate Opening:

A Flexible Magnetic Insect Screen for the Tailgate Opening (162cm wide at the base x 186cm high) is comprised of three overlapping mesh panels secured internally at the head of the door opening in a track. The seal for the right and left vertical perimeters is also provided by a fixed track.

The seal between the overlapping mesh panels is provided by a two part flexible magnetic fastener that runs the full height of the tailgate opening. The bottom seal is provided in part by hook and loop fastener and in part by a flexible magnetic fastener.

The Tailgate Opening Flexible Magnetic Insect Screen can be easily removed and installed by sliding the screens perimeter into the fixed tracking system.

Entry into and out of your vehicle is simply a matter of moving through the overlapping mesh panels. The product is robust and provides an effective barrier against insect entry.

Sun Shields for Thermal Protection and Privacy:

Sun Shields are available for internal installation to the windscreen only, or optionally, as a cabin set (includes the windscreen and also the passenger and drivers door windows).

Sun Shields can also be made for any other window or hatch in your vehicle.

Lightweight Awning for Rear of Vehicle:

A lightweight awning that provides protection to the rear of the vehicle between the rear barn doors further contributes to the comfort of your motorhome.

The side perimeters of the awning slides into a track system that is attached internally to each of the upper door panels whilst the rear of the awning attaches to the underside of the rear door opening. The lightweight awning provides shade to the rear of the vehicle and prevents rain from entering the rear opening of the motorhome.

The rear awning is an excellent accessory to maximise the benefits of the tailgate opening insect screen.
