Mercedes-Benz MB100 and MB140

In the over cab van market the Mercedes MB100 and MB140 are the only models to utilise the widely accepted advantages of front-wheel-drive.

Particularly appealing to the campervan industry is the generous load area of both models. The MB100 has a load capacity of 5.7 cubic metres and a load length of 2820mm while the MB140 offers 7.3 cubic metres load capacity on a loading length stretching 3270mm.

The Mercedes MB100 and MB140 were released in Australia in 1999 and ran through until 2004.

Insect Screens for Window Openings:

The Flexible Magnetic Insect Screen attaches externally to the ferrous metal body panels that surrounds the window frame. The Flexible Magnetic Insect Screen rolls up for storage in a tube or can be stored flat under the mattress.

Flexible Magnetic Insect Screens are available for the following window openings:

1. Passenger Door Window (Front Left). For external installation on windows that are not fitted with a weathershield.
2. Drivers Door Window (Front Right). For external installation on windows that are not fitted with a weathershield.
3. Sliding Door Window (Left Side Centre). Provides a 100 % seal to a window panel 116cm wide x 56cm high.


Insect Screen for the Sliding Door Opening:

A Flexible Magnetic Insect Screen for the Sliding Door Opening (nominally 121cm wide x 131 cm high) is comprised of overlapping mesh panels secured internally at the head in a track. Flexible magnet provides the seal down each side of the opening and between the overlapping mesh panels. The bottom seal is also provided by a flexible magnetic fastener.

Due to the sliding door upper runner arm returning to the inside of the vehicle the Flexible Magnetic Insect Screen for the sliding door opening is available in two (2) configurations:

Option1: for the insect screen to remain installed without interferring with the operation of the sliding door mechanism the insect screen is supported in a track that is below the sliding door upper runner arm - this means that the door opening will be decreased in depth by approximately 80mm.

Option 2: the insect screen is supported in a track that is installed flush with the top of the door opening with a provision for the mesh to seal around the upper runner arm when the sliding door is fully opened. With this configuration the insect screen would need to be removed and stored to close the sliding door.

With either option entry into and exit out of your vehicle is simply a matter of moving through the overlapping mesh panels. The product is robust and provides an effective barrier against insect entry.

The Sliding Door Opening Insect Screen can be removed in around 10 to 15 seconds and is just as easy to reinstall.

Insect Screen for the Tailgate Opening:

Two options are available to screen the tailgate opening:

Option 1: The Tailgate Insect Screen Assembly is a non magnetic insect screening product  that is held in place by an elastic fastening device and provides a 100% seal  against insect pest entry to the tailgate opening. The tailgate is nominally 143cm wide x 141cm high. This product is an insect screen only and whilst accomodating access to storage areas and cabinets normally accessed via the tailgate opening does not provide for occupant access except in an emergency.

Option 2: The Flexible Magnetic Tailgate Insect Screen is comprised of three overlapping mesh panels that are held in an internally fitted track at the top of the rear opening. A two part flexible magnetic fastener seals the centre panel against the two outer panels for the full depth of the opening. The vertical perimeter seals are provided by a track system. When insects are not an issue the centre panel can be rolled up and tied at the top of the door opening.

Sun Shields are available for internal installation to the windscreen only or as a cabin set (for the windscreen and also the passenger and drivers door windows).
